Graen Cabinetry designs, builds and installs custom built-ins for homes across Orange County, California.

Media walls and fireplace surrounds. Home offices that close up at the end of the day. Bars, butler’s pantries, bookcases and libraries. Window seats, mudrooms, laundry rooms — the cabinetry that turns a leftover wall into the best part of the room.

The difference between furniture pushed against a wall and a built-in is that one reads as original to the house. That takes a designer who thinks about the room, not just the piece.

What a Graen built-in includes.

Designed with the room, planned for real life, and installed by the same studio that drew it.

I

Designed with the room

Scaled to your ceilings, baseboards and sightlines, so the piece reads as architecture — original to the house.

II

Planned for real life

Cable routing, device ventilation and lighting positions decided on paper, before the piece is built — then hidden inside it.

III

One studio, one install

The designer who drew the piece coordinates the build and the install. One point of contact, start to finish.

What to
expect.

A single built-in is usually a faster build than a full kitchen. Complete projects typically run 10 to 12 weeks; smaller pieces are often quicker — your designer plans backward from your date.

Every piece is quoted from your drawings and selections. The consultation is free, and you leave it knowing scope, timeline and budget.

Built-in questions, answered.

What kinds of built-ins do you make?

Media walls and fireplace surrounds, home offices, bars and butler’s pantries, bookcases and libraries, window seats, mudroom and laundry cabinetry. If it should look original to the house, it’s a built-in — and it’s what we do.

Can a built-in include lighting or media wiring?

We plan for it from the first drawing — cable routing, device ventilation, lighting positions — and coordinate with your electrician so the finished piece hides all of it. The planning is ours; the wiring is done by your licensed trades.

Will it match my home’s existing trim and finishes?

Yes — that’s the point of a built-in. Your designer scales the piece to your ceilings, baseboards and sightlines and matches finishes so it reads as original to the house, not added on.

How long does a built-in project take?

Timeline scales with scope. Full projects typically run 10 to 12 weeks from consultation to install; a single piece is often faster. You’ll get a real date at your free consultation.
